General Summary:

 

The Noon Duty/Cafeteria Assistant assists the principal and school personnel in providing a safe and orderly environment.  The assistant is directly responsiĀ­ble to the school principal or principal's designee.  $18.64 per hour. Selected applicant may need to apply through ESS Midwest Inc. (formerly PCMI Services). Hours and specific dates are to be determined.

 

Location: Westwoods Elementary School

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  1. Assists students with foodstuffs, opening, etc.
  2. Maintains clean tables/floors and assists with small spills.
  3. Controls movement and behavior.
  4. Reports injuries and prepares accident reports.
  5. Reports infractions and makes referrals.
  6. Resolves conflict.
  7. Alerts supervisors of dangerous situations.
  8. Maintains safety in play and of playground equipment.
  9. Enforces school and playground rules.
  10. Develops activities for inside play.
  11. Performs first aid and CPR.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  1. Minimum education requirement is a high school diploma or GED.
  2. Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with students and school personnel.
  3. Ability to care for, supervise, and nurture children.
  4. Ability to resolve conflict.
  5. Ability to maintain confidentiality related to sensitive information pertaining to students and school personnel.
  6. Willing to participate in district training as required, including completion of suggested online training modules in SafeSchools.
  1. Willing and able to work outside in all types of weather conditions.
  2. Dependable and reliable.
